St. Andrew Orthodox the First-Called Orthodox Christian Church is a mission parish of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia. All services are in English.

WORSHIP SERVICES
The Church opens every Sunday at 8am, and remains open until just before noon.
Confessions are heard, and the 3rd and 6th Hours begin at 9am.
The Divine Liturgy begins at 9am.
Visitors are very welcome to attend services, and refreshments are offered afterward.
Communion is open to baptized and chrismated Orthodox Christians who have prepared by fasting and confession. Diocesan Archbishop Peter has directed that faithful arriving after the Gospel shall not commune.

Lazarus Saturday

Making A Difference
St. Andrew Orthodox Church is a mission parish dedicated to growing Eastern Orthodox Christianity in central Texas. All are welcome to "come and see." We are Orthodox, but not Jewish; Catholic, but not Roman. We're not protestant, but the Bible came from us; we're not denominational - we're pre-denominational. Proclaiming the Truth since 33AD.

In addition to the St. Andrew and the other Saints Who Shone forth in Scotland, our parish has a particular devotion to the Imperial Martyrs, particularly Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II.
​
St. Andrew's partners with Barking Dog Ranch to provide sustainably raised protein to the food insecure. We are also working on providing ready-made food to the needy - including BBQ and pizza!

Raising Children in the Church
Children are the future of the Church, are very welcome at St. Andrew's. We invite and encourage you to bring your children and let them explore the church space as they participate in worship. We have children's books and activities as well.
A Spirit of Service
There are volunteer opportunities both within the parish itself, and within the community we serve. Please speak with Fr. Ignatius about what you can do to help!

Our food pantry protein supplier is the Barking Dog Ranch, and they are always in need of volunteers.

We are proud to support our friends at the Hays-Caldwell Women's Shelter - please ask Matushka Apollonia how you can help!

Supporting our Community
The Brotherhood of Tsar-Martyr Nicholas II performs maintenance work on the parish and rectory. Their key ministry is building coffins for those in need.
​
The Sisterhood of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg prepares the trapeza and cleans the parish. Their key ministry is the food pantry & hygienic items.
​
Both groups host and participate in retreats at Holy Archangels Monastery in Kendalia.

ITEMS WE NEED FOR THE CHURCH
We are in need of the following items:
These are several items that we use on a regular basis that would really be helpful:
Wine - Nama Byzantio for Communion, we also can use tawny port for zapivka.
Olive oil - the plain, cheap kind actually burns the best in our oil lamps.
Candles - 100% beeswax in a variety of sizes (mostly 3/4" are needed). We also need commemoration candles for the sand box.
Communion cloths - "square red," please.
Coffee - got a favorite brand? Donate a pound for trapeza!
